At 3:23 p.m., the Palestine Police Department responded to the Pint and Barrel restaurant in reference to a reported accidental shooting.
Officers arrived and found a 25-year-old male with an apparent gunshot wound to the left thigh. Officers quickly applied a tourniquet to the subject's leg to control the bleeding.
The subject was sitting outside of the building while carrying a handgun in his pocket. The subject accidentally discharged the handgun and was struck in the leg.
The subject was transported by PRMC EMS and was later flown to a Tyler hospital. The condition is unknown at the time of this release.
