The Palestine Police Community liaison works within the police department as dictated by the needs of the department and the community. The community liaison's responsibilities include police/community relations, program coordination, community safety education, bilingual community outreach, content creation, graphic design, social media, and police department site webmaster.



Outreach objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and disseminating up-to-date information affecting residents and the surrounding communities, including but not limited to news media, social media, and departmental website.
  • Organizing safety fairs where the community can interact positively with police officers and other public safety representatives in their neighborhoods.
  • Collaborating on projects with officers and community groups, which address long or short-term problems.
  • Establishing communication links and partnerships between the police department and Palestine residents.
  • Coordinating special safety events and those we serve in Palestine, such as Blue Santa, National Night Out, National Drug Take Back, and Coffee with a Cop.
  • Overseeing various police community programs, such as Youth Corps, Citizens on Patrol, and Neighborhood Crime Watch.
