The Code Compliance Department maintains Palestine's status as a clean, livable city by ensuring the property complies with rules set by City Council. Code Enforcement Officers routinely patrol assigned neighborhoods for code violations and investigate complaints with a mission of abating issues and educating residents.

You can call the Code Enforcement Division at 903-731-6003 or fill out our Online Complaint Form for the following:

  • To Report Tall Grass and Weeds
  • To Report Tree Limbs and Brush lying on the ground on private property
  • To Report Trash and Debris on private property
  • To Report an insect, rodent, and mosquito infestation
  • To Report fence maintenance
  • To Report Sign Code Violations, such as illegal garage sale signs and unauthorized commercial business signs
  • To Report Zoning Ordinance Violations
  • To Report Substandard and Dangerous Buildings
  • To Report Illegal Residential-Based Businesses
  • To Report Illegal Dumping within a public street, right-of-way, or public alley
  • To Report junked or abandoned cars on public roadways and private properties
  • To Report trespassing (entering an abandoned or unsafe structure)
  • To Report the presence of a rodent or insect infestation in a food establishment
  • To Report bats in a building
  • To Report the Cleanliness of Food Establishments
  • To Report Work being done without a required building permit for residential, commercial, and properties located within historic districts and properties with a Palestine Landmark status
