If you found a "non-vicious" stray animal there are various options for action:
- Attempt to help the animal return home by making flyers and asking neighbors.
- Take the animal to BARC Humane Society at 335 Armory Road between 8 am and 4 pm or call 903-729-8074.
- Call Animal Control at 903-731-2254 for an Animal Control Officer to pick up the animal.
The most important thing when you find a lost animal is to never approach an animal that you think might be dangerous. Your personal safety is very important to us. If you encounter a dog or cat that appears to be friendly, check for tags and call the numbers to assist the animal in getting back home. If the animal is not wearing tags, take it to the BARC Humane Society or the nearest veterinary clinic to have the animal scanned for a microchip.
