The Development Services Department is a combination of Building Inspection, Historic Preservation, and Planning and Zoning. The Department seeks to facilitate an efficient and effective development process that supports growth and economic development. The Department is responsible for protecting the safety and quality of life of the citizens of Palestine through the regulation of land and building development.
Development Services provides administrative and technical support and is the liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Building and Standards Commission, Historic Landmarks Commission, and the Zoning Board of Adjustment and Appeals.
