TIP 411

Welcome to the Palestine Police Department’s Tip411 Program Information Page. The Palestine Police Department is committed to improving the relationship between citizens and the department. We can better serve the community by increasing our crime clearance rates, and by providing means of communication, news and information alerts in alternative forms.

In order to help accomplish this goal, the Palestine Police Department has implemented Tip411, which is an online and mobile program developed by Citizen Observer. Tip411 allows citizens to provide anonymous tips regarding criminal activity or suspected criminal activity to the police, however, IT DOES NOT REPLACE 911 as the means for contacting law enforcement in case of an EMERGENCY. You can give tips about crime from your Android Tip411 App, Apple Tip411 App, or WEB TIP by clicking on the links. You can download the application for you by going to the Apple or Android Store or by clicking the link. You can view the CRIME MAP (coming soon), and give tip information regarding any specific case, anonymously. You can then submit information, and have an anonymous two way conversation regarding the tip you are providing with a member of the Palestine Police Department. To send an anonymous tip via text message to the Palestine Police Department, text the keyword PALPD and your message to 847411 (tip411).

In addition, the Palestine Police Department will be sending out alerts regarding City Activities, Town Hall Meetings, and other information related to your area or type of business, such pertinent information regarding recent crimes of interest. These alerts may include video/photos that may allow citizens to help identify a offender.  The Department has developed a map with several sub-districts, see below, which have been color coded for easy identification. If you live, work, or have interest within that particular area of the city, sign up under that Sub-District, and click Palestine Police Department to receive all alerts that go out citywide.

The Palestine Police Department will be contacting some business types, such as Banks, Schools, etc, to have representatives sign up, so that we may provide additional sensitive information regarding crimes related to those specific types, such as BOLO’s (BE ON THE LOOKOUT) on active Forgers, Robbery Suspect Info, Child Predators, etc.

You can also view news feeds and alerts on our Facebook and Twitter pages. So add our FACEBOOK and TWITTER pages for breaking news.

Citizen Observer also provides the ability for Neighborhood Watch Groups to sign up. If you would like to form a Neighborhood Watch Group, or if you already have a Neighborhood Watch Group, please contact Det. David Kassaw at (903)731-8482 or Lt. Jeff Powell at (903)731-8471.
