Are you disabled or age 65+ and need help getting your stuff picked up?

The City of Palestine Public Works Department will pick up items at your request.

You must provide proof of age and/or disability, as well as proof of residency and it must be verified no later than October 8, 2021 before a pick-up will be scheduled.

Eligibility may be approved by visiting Public Works Dept. located at 1620 W. Palestine Avenue. Contact Public Works Department by phone at 903-731-8423 for any questions or concerns.

Citywide Fall Cleanup

The next Palestine Citywide Cleanup is scheduled for October 9th.

Organic waste (e.g., brush, grass, tree limbs, and plants) may be taken to the compost facility for disposal at the Palestine Compost Facility, located at 1630 N. Spring Street, Palestine, TX.
Household items, trash, and other items may be taken to the Anderson County Transfer Station, located at 571 ACR 367, Palestine, TX 75801, with a Palestine Utility bill and identification. One 16-foot trailer or two regular truckloads per household may be dumped.
*Large appliances that the freon has to be evacuated by a certified technician and the item tagged by the technician regarding evacuation before it will be accepted.
Don't forget to take a recent utility bill and picture identification. Both are required upon entry.

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS NOT ACCEPTABLE

*Solid waste, including household garbage, furniture, lumber, shingles, and dried paint

*Metal items, including sheet metal, pipe, scrap iron, and cast iron

*Large appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, a/c units, and televisions

*Car and light truck tires with no rims limited to 4 per household (tractor and large truck tires will not be accepted.

*Household chemicals, such as drain cleaners, liquid paint, and cleaning supplies

 

*Herbicides, pesticides, automotive fluids, or acids
