Palestine Residents needing to get rid of their unwanted items will have the opportunity to do so at the next Citywide Spring Cleanup Day in April. On Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Palestine residents, with an active water account, will be able to drop off their unwanted items at the City of Palestine Transfer Station, 517 ACR 3694 off Hwy 79 at no charge.

The City of Palestine water utilities will be making billing adjustments on March bills to help customers who may have experienced higher than average water usage this month due to dripping faucets to prevent freezing pipes.

COMPOST SITE: The compost site located at 1630 N Spring St (Hwy 287/19 south of Loop 256) will be open this Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The site will return to regular operating hours March 9, 2021 Tuesday, through Saturday from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

City Council

The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government with a Mayor, six (6) Council Members, and a City Manager. The Council Members are elected from single member districts for two-year terms, with the Mayor elected at large. The Mayor Pro Tem is elected by the Council on an annual basis. The Council's Mission Statement is to ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and productive city where neighborhoods are revitalized, history is conserved, the environment is protected, and where all people are empowered to reach their full potential through socialization, education, culture, recreation and wellness.
