The Planning & Development Department is divided into two major functions of Planning Administration and Enforcement which:
Review major codes and makes recommendations to the respective boards which oversee them;
Administers the permitting procedures, record keeping, legal issues, zoning applications, demolition program and
Enforces the codes and responds to related complaints; and protects historically significant structures.
Efficiency of services
Protection of the environment through enforcement programs
Neighborhood improvement projects and code enforcement
Investigate and resolve complaints.
Conduct informative public meetings.
Research and propose innovative ideas to further improve the City.
Revise the comprehensive plan for future city planning.
Continue Zoning Ordinance revisions
Encourage aesthetic development
Planning for future growth and compatible land uses.
Encourage Commission participation in related seminars.
Be mindful of the environment.
