Program Description

The Fleet Maintenance Department is responsible for maintenance of all vehicles used by City personnel. These types of equipment are police cars, fire trucks, light trucks, dump trucks, lawn mowers, weed-eaters, backhoes and other large and small equipment required to operate. This department services cars and trucks every 3,000 miles. Current records are maintained of how often cars/equipment are repaired and cost of maintenance. 

Goals

• Provide quality maintenance to the City of Palestine fleet.

• Develop replacement program for vehicles and equipment.

Objectives

• Develop a work order/costing system.

• Analyze cost to operate versus replacement.

• Evaluate organizational structure of fleet maintenance division.
