Program Description

The Facility Maintenance Department is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the City Hall facilities. This program maintains the public building and grounds to assure an attractive, safe, clean, workable facility. The maintenance for the interior as well as the outside grounds are usually performed according to schedule.

Numerous improvements to the City Hall facility have taken place in the past year. New awnings were installed, trees, shrubbery and grass have been planted. New letters indicating address and building names were added. In the next year we hope to continue such improvements to the facilities.

City personnel maintain the following facilities:

• City Hall

• Administrative Building

• Police Records, Communications and Courtroom

• Chamber of Commerce Grounds and HVAX Systems

• Public Library

• Senior Citizens Center

• Howard House Museum (grounds only)

• Municipal Airport

• City Warehouse and Maintenance Facility

• Civic Center

Goals

• Maintain city facilities in an attractive level.

• Develop maintenance schedule.

Objectives

• Continue daily cleaning.

• Maintain grounds.

• Develop a checklist for each facility.

• Develop a Capital Improvement Plan for all facilities.
